Mr. Phillips has also led multi-hospital organizations in South Dakota and Wisconsin as well as a 1200 physician group. While in South Dakota, he led the construction of new hospitals, clinics, expanded existing facilities, introduced new clinical services and improved patient satisfaction, quality, safety and caregiver empowerment.
Mr. Phillips’ Mayo Clinic experience included Senior Administrator roles in the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiovascular Diseases, Innovation and International Office. In Mayo Clinic’s International Office he led strategic planning, partnership relationships, and management of the referral office. Coupled with his personal experience as a young man of living abroad for two years and traveling to over 35 countries he developed a real interest in helping people by striving to find ways to understand basic human and healthcare needs and how to meet them through the correct design and construction of facilities and implementation of proper healthcare systems and procedures by trained and mentored healthcare professionals.
Brent holds master’s degrees in business administration and healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Idaho State University. Brent is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE). He holds multiple United States patents on work done at Mayo Clinic and speaks regularly in the US and internationally on healthcare related topics.
